CANCER - LEUKEMIA


Leukemia is a cancer characterized by an increase of white blood cells. There are different types of leukemia, depending on which type of white blood cell is affected.
Leukemia classified as acute progresses rapidly Chronic leukemia progresses more gradually, but may have an acute aspect.
Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) may be considered five years after completion of successful treatment. Possible Standard or Table B with a fiat extra/thousand ranging from $20 to $7.50 for a period of years depending on time elapsed.

  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) or Hairy-Cell Leukemia (HCL) is
    uninsurable at current age 60 or less. Possible Table H to Table D at older ages.
  • Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) individually considered five years after bone marrow transplant.

Stage I (elevated lymphocyte count + enlarged lymph nodes) 8+ years
Stage II (elevated lymphocyte count + enlarged liver or spleen) 6 years

Stage IV (elevated lymphocyte count + low platelet count) 4 years

Stages II, Ill, IV would be declined on an individual basis but may be considered highly substandard for survivorship if stable.
